Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position:

Account Manager II

What can you expect?

Join a growing team of 120+ people in the Halifax office This position will be supporting U.S based clients.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of clients, managing the day to day activities of various captive insurance companies and other clients.

We will count on you to:

Prepare financial statements in an accurate and timely manner, including supplemental financial information required by the client

  • Clients are international with their own rules and regulations to be familiarized

  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts. Prepare bank deposits and cash disbursements.

  • Plan and complete the annual audit for clients, which can include preparation of regulatory filings and GAAP financial statements

  • Ensures legal and regulatory compliance processes and procedures are followed for local accounting and financial reporting.

  • Maintain client files in accordance with regulations and best practices

  • Learn and develop client and third-party providers relationships

  • Correspond with other service providers.

  • Prepare board and committee meeting materials and participate in the annual board of directors' meeting and other client meetings.

  • Comply with Marsh internal controls and any client specific internal controls

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you need to have:

  • CPA Designation or CPA enrolment is preferred, OR;

  • 1-2 years equivalent relevant experience on preparation of financial statements, preparation of working paper files, and General Ledger

  • Bachelors of Accounting, Business Administrator, or equivalent

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, confidence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external clients.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products - MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.

  • Skills Ā : Treasury, General Ledger (GL), Business Finance, Accounting, External Audit, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Project Management, Financial Analysis and Reporting, Financial Statements, Account Reconciliations, Financial Management, Accounting System, Financial Controlling, Insurance Accounting, Insurance Terminology, Accounts payable and receivables, Microsoft office product knowledge

  • Relevant captive experience

  • 1-2 years of experience working with or within insurance company and familiar with Statutory Accounting Principles ("SAP") for insurance companies.

  • Familiar with US regulatory requirements for insurance companies.
