12+ Month Contract
Location: Toronto ON (Remote)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Java – Spring Boot Developer to design and develop enterprise-grade, scalable applications that drive digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, microservices architecture experience, and hands-on knowledge of modern DevOps and container platforms.
This role involves full systems lifecycle management including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, integration, and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
Perform systems and requirements analysis to identify technical solutions.
Design and develop moderate to highly complex applications.
Build and maintain RESTful web services using Spring Boot.
Develop and optimize NoSQL and relational database integrations.
Implement messaging systems using Kafka, AMQ, or WMQ.
Design integration solutions using Apache Camel.
Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and container orchestration.
Produce integration builds and deployment artifacts.
Maintain system documentation and technical specifications.
Monitor system performance and implement enhancements.
Support disaster recovery planning and emerging technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Java development
5+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot
Strong experience with:
Web Services (REST/SOAP)
SQL, JDBC, JPA
3+ years of experience with Angular
3+ years of experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase preferred)
3+ years working with Kafka, AMQ, WMQ
2+ years of experience in Apache Camel
2+ years of experience in OpenShift or Kubernetes
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization
Tools experience: Jenkins, JFrog, GitHub, Postman, Azure DevOps
Preferred Skills
Experience designing microservices architecture
Strong knowledge of integration patterns
Experience working in enterprise-level application environments
Exposure to disaster recovery and system performance monitoring
