WHAT WE NEED
Implement a scoring algorithm for our health tech app that analyzes feminine hygiene products and rates them 0-100 based on microbiome safety.
Your job: Build ONE scoring function and ONE API endpoint. Simple and focused.
DELIVERABLES
1. Scoring Function
Takes product data, returns score 0-100 plus rating plus concerns
Example input:
- Product name: Tampax Pearl Regular
- Ingredients: Rayon, Cotton, Polyester
- Bleaching: chlorine
- Fragrance: none
- Organic: false
Example output:
- Score: 73
- Rating: Good
- Concerns: Chlorine bleached, Synthetic materials
- Positives: Fragrance-free
Scoring rules we provide:
Start at 100 points
Chlorine bleached: -10
Synthetic fragrance: -15
Organic: +10
Plus 20 more rules
2. API Endpoint
POST endpoint that takes barcode, returns product analysis

Test with 10 sample products we provide, verify scores are accurate

REQUIREMENTS
Must have:
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills
- Experience building scoring or ranking algorithms
- Comfortable with if-else logic and loops
- Basic API development experience
- Can work with existing codebases
Nice to have but not required:

PAYMENT
Budget: $ USD Fixed Price
Payment Option 1 - Preferred:
- Milestone 1 at 40%: Algorithm function complete and tested
- Milestone 2 at 60%: API endpoint working plus documentation
Payment Option 2:
- 100% on completion
Includes one round of revisions if needed.
TIMELINE
Total: 5-7 days
Day 1-2: Build scoring algorithm function
Day 3-4: Build API endpoint and integrate
Day 5-6: Testing and documentation
Day 7: Final review and any fixes

We are building a web app that helps women understand how feminine hygiene products like tampons, pads, intimate washes, and lubricants affect their vaginal microbiome health.
Users scan product barcodes and instantly see a science-backed score plus specific concerns. Think "Yuka for feminine health products."
The frontend is 90% complete. We just need the backend scoring logic implemented. Your work will directly help thousands of women make better health choices.
