OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive National Security Manager to oversee all aspects of physical security for a high-value industrial property. The Security Manager will protect assets, personnel, tenants, and visitors while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Security Planning
The National Security Manager will develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans tailored to an industrial environment (warehouses, maintenance garages, heavy-truck yards, or manufacturing facilities).
Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency services for preparedness and incident response.
Operations & Oversight
Manage day-to-day security operations, including surveillance systems (CCTV), access control, alarms, and perimeter checks.
Oversee contract security personnel or in-house guards, ensuring proper training, scheduling, and performance management.
Monitor visitor and contractor access, vehicle traffic, and deliveries to maintain site integrity.
Respond to and investigate incidents, thefts, accidents, or suspicious activity, preparing detailed reports for management and insurers.
Compliance & SafetyEnsure adherence to occupational health and safety standards, insurance requirements, and local regulations.
Lead or assist in fire drills, evacuation exercises, and workplace safety training for employees and tenants.
Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions for audits and insurance purposes.
Technology & Asset ProtectionEvaluate and recommend security technology upgrades such as cameras, access systems, and lighting.
Monitor maintenance of security hardware to ensure operational readiness.
Protect sensitive areas like fuel storage, maintenance equipment, and industrial tools.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 5+ years of security or law enforcement experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Familiarity with industrial environments such as logistics yards, manufacturing plants, or warehouses.
Strong knowledge of security technologies, OSHA or similar safety standards, and emergency protocols.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call for emergencies.
Preferred SkillsCertifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional).
Experience with contract guard vendor management.
Bilingual ability* (e.g., English/French or English/Spanish) for diverse workforces.
