Overview

Performance Marketing Specialist at Toptal. This remote role involves scaling Performance Marketing and managing global SEM, paid social, and display campaigns to acquire high-quality clients for Toptal’s talent and professional services. You will be supported by Business Analytics, Creative, and Customer teams to handle strategy, execution, and analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Maximize paid media driven revenue by providing a steady stream of high-potential prospective clients.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for brand growth and revenue generation across paid social, display, affiliate and other channels, while working with a team to enhance SEM efforts.
  • Help executives, marketing strategists, and senior leadership hit KPIs related to their initiatives and OKRs.
  • Assist in building forecasts and projections for ROI on marketing campaigns, traffic, user acquisition, and other areas requiring robust financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with Business Analytics and Marketing Strategy teams to turn insights into actionable strategies for the Performance Marketing team.
  • Maintain organized playbooks, automated systems, and dashboards to track experiment states and thresholds, ensuring maximum impact of experiments.
  • Contribute to generating new ideas that advance Performance Marketing.
  • Manage day-to-day operations: campaign strategy, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Identify ways to grow and improve channel efficiency and maintain high-quality marketing output.
  • Ensure Paid Media adheres to industry best practices and maintain accurate long-term tracking.
  • Generate reports and analyze data to derive actionable insights from complex datasets using tools like Google Sheets, Excel, and Looker Studio.
  • Collaborate with creative and content teams to develop ad copy, visuals, and landing pages to improve CTR and conversions.
  • Lead high-visibility calls with stakeholders, including analysis, recommendations, performance updates.
  • Refine audience strategies across paid social, programmatic, and OLV using first-party data, lookalike modeling, in-market segments, and contextual targeting.
  • Design and execute structured A/B and multivariate tests on audiences, creatives, and placements to identify performance drivers.
  • Create detailed campaign dashboards and recurring reports, translating findings into actionable scaling and efficiency recommendations.
  • Monitor audience performance trends, reallocate budget toward high-performing cohorts to maximize ROAS and lead generation.
  • Prepare and deliver tactical presentations with meaningful results, insights, and recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4+ years of SEM experience; paid social (e.g., LinkedIn), OLV (YouTube) and/or programmatic display experience is highly preferred.
  • Expertise managing annual Paid Media budgets over $2M.
  • Experience ideating, implementing, analyzing, and promoting paid media growth strategies.
  • Ability to review final work products with meticulous attention to detail across analytical and creative work.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue at scale via performance marketing, preferably in a B2B technology or services company.
  • Experience with A/B testing strategies and summarizing results in slide decks.
  • Experience presenting to large teams and executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders across time zones and geographies.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and strong growth-focused mindset.
