Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and functional status. Develops and updates an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the patient, based on goals and capabilities. Plans, prepares, and carries out evidence-based interventions to maintain, improve, or restore function; alleviate pain; and prevent dysfunction. Delivers therapy using standard PT techniques and modalities appropriate to patient age and condition (e.g., moist heat/cold, ultrasound, UV/IR lamps, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy). Administers physical agents and operates PT equipment safely; performs necessary set-up and checks. Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices; recommends modifications as needed. Identifies/document goals, anticipated progress, and timelines; plans for reevaluation and discharge. Directs and supervises PTAs, students, and support personnel; delegates tasks appropriately and ensures clear communication. Accurately documents assessments, interventions, patient response, education, and progress toward goals. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education; performs other duties as assigned. License: Current Physical Therapy license in state of practice.

Additional Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Proficiency in multiple clinical software systems and rapid learning ability. Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand). Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a qualified and diverse medical staff. Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit. The facility also features a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites. Diagnostic imaging services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The hospital's 13-bay Emergency Department sees more than 15,000 patient visits annually. Highpoint Health - Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. It includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that treats more than 5,000 patients each year.
