About

*Overview*
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled 310T Lead Mechanic to oversee maintenance and repair operations of our fleet. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with commercial vehicles, and strong leadership abilities. Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment is an asset. This role is vital in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. The Lead Mechanic will also mentor other technicians, coordinate maintenance schedules, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
*Duties*
* Lead and complete the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a fleet of commercial vehicles
* Perform diagnostics using schematics and mechanical knowledge to identify issues efficiently.
* Conduct repairs utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized machinery.
* Oversee repairs and system diagnostics on various equipment.
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
* Assist in the assembly and installation of new equipment or machinery as needed.
* Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and industry standards to promote a safe working environment.
* Provide technical guidance to team members and coordinate work schedules for maximum efficiency.
* Communicate effectively with team members regarding service needs or repair status as required.

*Experience*
* Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair, fleet maintenance, and commercial vehicles - heavy machinery maintenance as asset.
* Fleet experience is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, safe lifting techniques, and safety procedures related to industrial environments.
* Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent troubleshooting skills.
* Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a mechanic or maintenance setting is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in maintaining critical equipment essential for operational success while working in a dynamic environment that values expertise and safety.
*Qualifications*
* Appropriate credentials - 310T license
* Computer literate
* Must be able to work with little supervision, be self directed
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
* Valid driver's license - minimum G required
* Ability to work in a fast paced, high demand environment
*Work Conditions*
* Work is mainly in a shop environment with some travel to various sites being required
Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour
