The goal of a Community Manager is to manage the Social Networks of a company and to develop the brand’s online community. She/he needs to work hand in hand with the digital marketing department and create an engagement towards the potential customers and maintain the relationships with existing ones. She/he uses analytical tools to monitor social media, blogs and online forums. Managing a crisis on social media is also part of their role.
The skills needed are: organizational skills, creative spirit and a large curiosity. More often Community Managers have a Bachelor of Science in Marketing but there are other different ways to access this position.
