AI Researcher Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional AI researcher to lead cutting-edge research in AI-powered sign language production and generation technologies at Silence Speaks.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Linguistics, or a closely related field
- Have extensive experience in deep learning, particularly with Large Language Models (LLMs), multimodal AI, and neural networks
- Demonstrate expertise in computer vision, especially in pose estimation, object detection, and 3D object manipulation
- Have a strong background in linguistics related to sign languages
- Possess a keen eye for research, evidenced by a strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences and journals
- Have experience leading research projects and mentoring junior researchers
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments both autonomously and collaboratively, with a focus on sign language production and generation
- Develop novel algorithms for sign language recognition, synthesis, and translation using state-of-the-art AI techniques
- Implement and optimize transformer-based architectures and Stable Diffusion models for efficient sign language processing
- Study, debug, and optimize model performance and computational efficiency
- Contribute to the training and inference infrastructure for large-scale sign language models
- Provide consulting and strategic advice on the use of LLMs, multimodal AI, and neural networks in sign language applications
- Train and mentor masters students and interns, assigning tasks and monitoring their development
- Lead major model training runs and demonstrate a thorough understanding of deep learning architectures
- Develop methods for safe deployment of LLMs in real-world sign language translation applications
- Publish high-impact research findings in top-tier conferences and journals
Required Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, and other deep learning frameworks
- Expertise in computer vision techniques, including pose estimation, object detection, and 3D object manipulation
- Experience with GPU programming and optimization techniques
- Familiarity with LLMs, Stable Diffusion, and video generation technologies
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++
- Experience with MLFlow, Slurm, Poetry, and Docker for experiment management and deployment
