Cloud Support Engineer – Hybrid Working

My client is a technology-driven company that delivers innovative solutions through advanced software and cloud services. They are looking for a Development and Cloud Support Engineer to join their 3rd-line Customer Support Team.

The Role

As a Development and Cloud Support Engineer, you will play a key role in resolving technical issues, delivering high-level technical support, and contributing to the ongoing development of my client’s software platform. You will also have the opportunity to support and enhance their cloud environment, working with containerised services in Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for escalated software, hardware, and cloud-related issues

Troubleshoot and resolve faults through investigation and testing

Maintain and develop the hardware support environment

Collaborate with Product Management to prioritise and resolve product issues

Create and maintain technical documentation, including FAQs and release notes

Support and automate build, test, and release processes

Assist with the deployment and maintenance of containerised software in Azure

What You’ll Need

Experience in a 2nd or 3rd line technical support role

Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills

Hands-on experience with Windows-based operating systems (Windows 10, Server 2012, 2016, 2019)

Understanding of networking principles (IP addressing, subnetting, TCP, UDP, multicast)

Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure

Knowledge of databases (IBM DB2, MS SQL)

Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, failover, replication)

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable Skills

Experience with DevOps tools and automation

Certifications in networking (Cisco, etc.) or cloud technologies

 Knowledge of enterprise storage solutions (SAN, SQL Server, IBM DB2 Admin)
