Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
Stations:
One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).
Job Description
The Quality Inspector (MEP) is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality control and assurance across all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works within the project. This role involves verifying compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality management plans, while coordinating inspections, documentation, and corrective actions. The Quality Inspector will work closely with the MEP team, subcontractors, and third-party testing agencies to maintain strict adherence to project requirements and regulatory standards.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 CAD to $100,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the MEP team and relevant subcontractors to ensure strict adherence to quality control and assurance standards across all project activities.
Verify that site work complies with Issued for Construction drawings, shop drawings, Work Method Statements, the Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Ensure all ITP line items are signed off in real time and supported by complete documentation.
Maintain accurate records by documenting and closing ITPs immediately after activity completion, and coordinate with the Document Control team for timely uploads.
Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any work or material that fails to meet project
Coordinate corrective actions and follow-up to ensure NCRs are resolved within required timelines.
Inspect delivered materials to confirm compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate required testing with certified third‑party agencies.
Monitor work progress against the project schedule and report potential delays to the Construction Quality Control Manager.
Participate in project meetings and support internal, joint‑venture, and client reporting related to quality.
Work closely with team members to ensure seamless coordination and project success.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Inspector; experience on transit or major infrastructure projects in Ontario is preferred.
Bachelor's degree or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with OPSS, CSA, ACI standards, TTC and Metrolinx specifications, and the Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual.
Experience managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and non‑conformance processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience with document management platforms such as SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360, ProjectWise, or Procore is an asset.
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced project environment.
