The Quality Control Technician plays an important role in protecting our reputation for accuracy, reliability, and craftsmanship. Your Impact:
The Quality Control Technician helps ensure that every product leaving Malach meets customer specifications and our internal quality standards. Through careful inspections, accurate documentation, and strong collaboration with production teams, this role prevents defects, reduces rework, and supports consistent, reliable manufacturing processes. Your attention to detail directly protects our customers, our team members, and Malach's reputation for doing things right the first time. Inspection and Verification:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies, and weldments throughout the manufacturing process.
- Use precision measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other gauges.
- Verify products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify and segregate nonconforming materials.
- Support first article, in process, and final inspections.
- Prepare accurate inspection records and reports.
- Document inspection results, measurements, and time spent using reporting tools and systems.
- Record internal and external non conformances to ensure traceability.
- Maintain organized and audit ready quality documentation.
- Support data entry and system updates as required.
- Document and process nonconformances.
- Coordinate rework, recuts, or disposition of nonconforming parts according to company standards.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Support preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Perform calibration checks and maintain measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Ensure tools remain accurate, certified, and in good working condition.
- Report damaged or out of tolerance equipment.
- Maintain calibration logs and records.
- Assist with the creation and updating of work instructions and quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training new team members on quality standards, policies, and inspection methods.
- Communicate quality issues clearly and professionally.
- Work effectively in a team environment to meet production timelines.
- Support ISO 9001 aligned quality systems and procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and process reviews.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas.
- Ensure all inspections and quality activities follow company and customer requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two to three years of related experience in a manufacturing or quality environment preferred.
- Experience using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Basic understanding of fabrication processes including brake forming, welding, and finishing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn ERP or specialized systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Organized and methodical approach to documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet timelines in a production environment.
