Note: the design concepts and floor plans with dimensions have already been established for each unit.
A few important details:
- One of the six structures (Cabin E) will be a prefabricated kit from Arched Cabins (Texas).
- Cabins C and D will each be constructed twice, resulting in a total of eight cabins on the site.
- We have a prior schematic design for Cabin C that will be revised as part of this process.
- We already have civil engineering for the overall site development is already underway.
Other Important Note: (Exterior Theming / Architectural Screen System)
- Each cabin will include non-structural architectural elements ("Hollywood facade" components) on the front elevation.
- These elements will be fabricated offsite and attached to the building using a secondary mounting plane (sheathing/plywood backing).
The façade system should be understood as a non-habitable architectural screen envelope consisting of a secondary framed support system connected to the primary structure.
- The primary building carries all structural loads independently.
- Side and rear elevations for all cabins will use conventional construction, with one exception:
Cabin B, however, will not have these facades. Rather it will include:
Synthetic thatch roofing (from a company in Florida called Endureed) and stucco cladding with decorative faux-Tudor half-timber detailing on all sides. It will also be the ADA-compliant unit.
