Border Security Specialist

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated professionals to join our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) team as a Customs and Border Protection Officer. As a CBPO, you will play a critical role in enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to make sound judgments quickly under pressure, and have experience working with diverse groups of people. A strong foundation in law enforcement principles, including knowledge of customs regulations, is also essential for success in this position.

• Enforcing customs laws through inspections at ports of entry
• Determining admissibility of individuals entering the United States
• Promoting national security by identifying potential threats from illicit activity such as smuggling or human trafficking

  
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes: detaining suspected violators; enforcing import/export regulations; utilizing intelligence techniques; conducting interviews
  
• Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required.  You must have had primary residency within the United States for three years out five years preceding your application.  Age restriction may not apply if currently serving in law enforcement or previously served in federal civilian law enforcement (non-military).
