Central to our clients’ focus on ESG issues is the impact climate change and biodiversity will have on their investment portfolios or lending and underwriting books from both a risk and opportunity perspective. We seek to expand our client-facing team with a commercially-minded individual who will serve as a technical Climate and Nature Solutions Specialist to prospective and existing clients in the EMEA region. The Specialist will be a subject matter expert on MSCI’s climate and biodiversity models and relevant industry and regulatory frameworks and an integral part of the business development team. This role will ideally be based at MSCI’s Paris office, France, but could also be located at one of MSCI’s other offices in Europe.
Your Team Responsibilities
- Promote and facilitate the deployment and use of MSCI’s climate and biodiversity solutions among institutional investors, wealth managers, and banks in the EMEA region.
- Collaborate with the EMEA Client Coverage team to create a market strategy for MSCI's climate and biodiversity offerings.
- Keep updated on key EU and UK climate and biodiversity regulations to offer insights and knowledge during client interactions.
- Aid clients in understanding enterprise and portfolio-level outputs from MSCI’s climate scenario models, such as Climate Value-at-Risk or Implied Temperature Rise metrics, and from biodiversity assessments.
- Assist MSCI clients in implementing their climate and biodiversity strategies.
- Relay market feedback to our Product Management team to enhance, improve, and tailor our offerings, including the integration of climate and biodiversity into the wider MSCI offering.
- Support the Product Management team with specific market analysis, including competitor reviews.
- Provide sales-enabling tools related to MSCI’s Climate and Biodiversity Solutions to the Client Coverage team.
- Participate and speak at MSCI webinars and external events focused on climate and biodiversity topics.
- Collect climate-related market intelligence and develop new pitches for selling climate and biodiversity solutions.
- Share industry trends and competitive insights on Climate Scenario Analysis and Nature and Biodiversity Assessments with senior management.
- Expand your network by attending relevant industry events.
- Set individual innovation goals to help MSCI advance its climate and biodiversity solutions within the broader context of MSCI Analytics, Index, or Private Capital solutions.

- Fluency in English is required, French would be a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional work experience
- Background in ESG/Sustainability/Climate Change from a practitioner, academic or policy perspective
- Financial Services experience highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree required (MA or CFA designation a plus) or equivalent experience
- Willingness to travel
