Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA) - Data Warehouse
Location: Austin, TX 78751.
Mode of work: Onsite

Description:
4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure systems by preventing unauthorized access and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to national security and foreign ownership restrictions.
Enters codes to create production data base. Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance, such as distribution of records and amount of available memory. Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to data base management system. Reviews and corrects programs. Answers user questions. Confers with coworkers to determine impact of data base changes on other systems and staff cost for making changes to data base. Modifies data base programs to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning. Workers typically specialize in one or more types of data base management systems. Providing assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, and ensuring that the conceptual and design phases of new applications are consistent with the structural parameters within the database environment. Evaluates users' requests for new data elements and systems, incorporates them into the existing shared data environment, and provides technical assistance. Coordinates the use of data to ensure data integrity and control redundancy, loads databases, and reorganizes as needed. Performs data modeling and prototyping. Performs logical and physical data modeling, designs relational database models, and creates physical data models from logical data models. Performs security recovery procedures. Determines and implements database search strategies and storage requirements. Maintains data dictionary ensuring uniformity of definitions and sets standards for use of data dictionary. Monitors database performance and recommends efficiency improvements. Creates test database environment for applications section, including the creation of necessary libraries and procedures. Executes the procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures within established procedures. Assists with determining, implementing, and enhancing standards on database security and with monitoring agency disaster recovery procedures and systems. Assists with the installation of database software and with analyzing, designing, and implementing databases. Assists in benchmarking and threshold testing of databases and with establishing and controlling necessary database security. Assists in the selection of database management software. Experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming work. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems design; of computer operations, systems, and procedures; of project control and cost estimating techniques; of computer programming languages; of data processing flowcharting techniques; of database structures and theories; and of current database technologies. Has working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies. Ensures that user interfaces for database administration and inputting, viewing, outputting data(via reports) are compliant with accessibility standards. Provides support to users in obtaining data / information when EIR Accessibility issues arise. Supports the installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels, and tests the migrations to ensure data reliability and functionality. Analyzes, designs, modifies, and maintains database structures. Designs and implements procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures. Establishes and implements database security controls and user access levels. Evaluates and recommends database software packages for potential acquisition. Prepares and develops database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries. Performs logical and physical data modeling, designs relational database models, and creates physical data models from logical data models. Performs database performance monitoring and implements efficiency improvements. Assists in modifying existing databases and database management systems. Assists in developing standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment Must Have:
5+ years of experience with Database Management Systems (DBMS), Data Warehouse Management, and Decision Support Tools. 5+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts. 5+ years of experience working with Business Objects, including data dictionary creation and metadata management. 5+ years of experience utilizing database access tools to support application delivery and data integration initiatives. 5+ years of experience supporting business analysis, strategic planning, and management reporting functions. 5+ years of experience demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills in cross-functional environments. 5+ years of experience collaborating effectively within team-oriented environments, leveraging strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. 5+ years of experience applying advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address highly complex business and technical challenges. 5+ years of experience implementing and utilizing benchmarking methodologies, processes, and performance measurement techniques. 5+ years of experience working with diverse stakeholders, motivating teams, and driving successful project outcomes through strong interpersonal skills. 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing concepts, including data modeling techniques such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models. 5+ years of experience using GUI-based ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or comparable enterprise ETL platforms. 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting enterprise-class databases including Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or similar technologies. 5+ years of experience working with analytical and reporting platforms such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or equivalent BI tools. 5+ years of experience across the full Data Warehouse Development Lifecycle, including requirements gathering, logical and physical data modeling, data sourcing, transformation, ETL development, data loading, SQL programming, and end-user reporting solutions. 5+ years of experience utilizing analytical and reporting tools to deliver actionable business intelligence and decision-support capabilities. Proven track record of 5+ years demonstrating strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and effective written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to successfully partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders while managing multiple priorities and deliverables. Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience working with Oracle Database technologies. 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports. 1+ year of experience working with M204 Database environments.
