Federal Construction Sales – Low/Medium Voltage Switchgear Position Overview Siemens, a global leader in electrical and electronic engineering, is seeking an experienced sales engineer to sell low/medium voltage power distribution products in the DC/Baltimore market. This role will operate in a hybrid (remote/office) environment within the federal and defense sectors.
Role Description
Develop, manage, and support relationships with general and electrical contractors in the federal and defense markets.
Participate in business development groups focused on federal and defense, building and nurturing contractor relationships to benefit Siemens.
Create and implement business strategies, forecast opportunities, and maintain a pipeline for all federal/defense projects in the sales area.
Provide product support for Panelboards, Switchboards, Medium Voltage gear, Lighting Panels, Low Voltage Switchgear, Busway, Motor Control Centers, Molded Case Circuit Breakers, IEC/NEMA Control, Safety Switches, and Residential Products.
Leverage knowledge of U.S. Government procurement, federal compliance, security clearance, and military personnel to develop solutions and prepare proposals for federal customers.
Engage continuously throughout the project life cycle to ensure successful implementation of government and contractor objectives.
Stay current on industry technology, federal trends, and market drivers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred; HS Diploma or GED equivalency is a minimum requirement.
5+ years of experience with federal contracting and procurement processes (or 10+ years).
5+ years of sales experience (or 10+ years).
5+ years of experience with LV/MV power distribution product lines (or 10+ years).
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer‑sponsored work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA
BS in Electrical Engineering
Experience selling to general and electrical contractors in the federal market space.
