Position Overview We are seeking a Technical IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Data & AI and Application Development initiatives for our professional services clients. This role blends hands‑on project leadership , technical fluency , and consultative client engagement .
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing complex, multi‑disciplinary projects in a consulting environment, serving as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring projects are delivered on time, on scope, and on budget .
Key Responsibilities Project & Delivery Leadership
Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Data & AI projects (data platforms, analytics, reporting, AI/ML initiatives) and custom application development engagements.
Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close‑out .
Own project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and change control.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams including architects, developers, data engineers, and client stakeholders.
Client & Consulting Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating business objectives into actionable technical delivery plans.
Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and solution planning discussions.
Manage client expectations, communicate status, and proactively address risks and roadblocks.
Support pre‑sales and solution scoping efforts, including estimates, timelines, and delivery approach.
Technical & Methodology Alignment
Partner closely with technical leads on Azure‑based Data & AI solutions , analytics platforms, and modern application architectures.
Ensure adherence to Oakwood delivery methodologies (PMI‑based / agile‑hybrid approaches).
Guide teams through Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery models as appropriate.
Ensure quality, documentation, and governance standards are met.
Stakeholder & Team Management
Serve as the primary liaison between clients, project teams, and Oakwood leadership.
Build high‑performing, collaborative project teams.
Provide clear direction, remove blockers, and promote accountability.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager in a consulting or professional services environment.
Proven experience managing Data & Analytics / Data & AI projects.
Experience leading application development projects (custom software, web, or cloud‑native apps).
Strong understanding of modern Microsoft‑centric environments (Azure, data platforms, app dev stacks).
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Excellent client‑facing, communication, and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Power BI).
Familiarity with AI/ML initiatives , analytics platforms, or data modernization programs.
Agile / Scrum experience (CSM, SAFe, or similar).
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience supporting pre‑sales, estimates, or delivery planning in a consulting model.
