Supports the department and the physician by being the first line of contact that the patient has in the exam room Obtains all base line information for the physician, including all ancillary testing. Performs initial history taking, including recording presenting complaint, document past ocular history, medications, allergies, and etc. Obtains and records visual acuity, refraction, color testing, lensometry and intraocular pressure. Performs ancillary testing visual fields, corneal topography, HRT, OCT A and B scan, and Fundus photography. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Education & Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Minimum One (1) year of full-time experience working in an Ophthalmology practice. Must have full working knowledge and hands on experience with Visual Fields, Corneal Topography, IOL, OCT, A/B Scans, Fundus and External Photography, and Manifest Refractions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates and/or Bachelor's degree. Additional years of experience working in Ophthalmology multi-specialty practice. Experience working with Electronic Medical Records. Ophthalmic Certification Preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
