Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and keen observation. Craft individualized treatment plans aimed at fulfilling both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals. Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy sessions emphasizing various aspects like communication, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and safe swallowing practices. Engage as a vital collaborator with an interdisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to foster integrated care strategies. Provide educational resources for patients and their families to ensure progress continues outside of clinical interactions. Perform occasional inpatient therapy assessments and interventions to maintain care continuity throughout the rehabilitation journey. Document assessments and treatment plans promptly and accurately in accordance with state and organizational regulations. Commit to professional growth by pursuing ongoing education and participating in peer discussions to enhance your knowledge and skills. Qualifications
Hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Have completed a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required: Hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting the position. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based interventions for a range of age groups, with a firm grasp on developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities when engaging with patients, their families, and collaborative team members. Adept at modifying therapy approaches to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Exhibit strong clinical judgment along with problem-solving skills.
