Client is looking for resume within 30 miles from 30339 Zip Code Job Description A System Engineer designs, implements, and manages Windows-based server infrastructure and virtualization technologies (VMware) in on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. They ensure system performance, security, and high availability, managing Active Directory, Group Policies, and server hardware. Typical roles involve scripting, patching, and 3rd-level technical support. Key Responsibilities Server Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and manage server roles (DNS, DHCP, IIS). Virtualization & Cloud:
Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and Azure IaaS (VMs, storage, network). Directory Services:
Manage Active Directory (AD), Entra ID, Group Policies (GPO), and authentication. Infrastructure Management:
Perform regular server patching, health checks, capacity planning, and system upgrades. Automation & Scripting:
Use PowerShell, Python, or Ansible to automate provisioning and tasks. Troubleshooting:
Resolve complex infrastructure issues, including hardware and OS failures. Required Technical Skills Strong experience with Nutanix (AHV, AOS, Prism, Calm is a plus) Hands-on experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions OS: Deep knowledge of Windows Server operating systems. Virtualization: VMware vCenter and ESXi. Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls. Cloud: Experience with Azure Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Security: Server hardening, compliance management, and patching Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience. Typically 5–10 years of experience in system administration. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware VCP) are often required.
