Required Education: Graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency (CAAHEP/ABHES). Required Experience: Three years of experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Plan, organize, and prioritize job duties to meet deadlines. • Ability to work independently, problem-solve and make decisions effectively. • Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers. • Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Office 365 apps. • Skilled at communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and written, at all levels. • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations needed to complete job tasks. • Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing job duties to meet deadlines. • Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationships at all levels - students, peers, and Executives. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, and parties outside of the college. • Models' professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and related. Required Licenses or Certifications: Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA). (NBSTSA-preferred or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) credentials accepted). Possess a knowledge of the program's curriculum and evaluation of student learning and performance. Preferred Education: CST® and/or CSFA® through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Associate degree or higher in Surgical Technology.
