Implement patient safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications. Maintain and care for central lines, preventing surgical site infections according to policy. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and support clinical decision-making. Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards. Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to improve patient outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage with patients and families to enhance their experience and support health outcomes. Apply critical thinking and pursue continuing education to develop nursing skills. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required. Experience At least one year of nursing experience is preferred. Requirements
Current RN license in a Compact State or the applicable state license. Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Mental and Physical Demands This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and twisting. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
