Position Title: Personal Care Assistant - Modified Soccer Seeking a detail-oriented individual to support a student with diabetes during extracurricular school activities. This position provides essential assistance to diabetic students while working within established guidelines for unlicensed school personnel. Care tasks performed by trained diabetes personnel may include glucose monitoring, glucagon administration, ketone testing, and basic carbohydrate counting. In addition to learning how to perform general diabetes care tasks, trained personnel will receive student-specific training and be supervised by the school nurse. Athletic Participation Support
Support students in self-administering insulin through verbal guidance and verification Assist with carbohydrate counting calculations and confirm mathematical accuracy Verify insulin measurements selected by students for self-administration Provide appropriate food or juice for low blood glucose episodes according to student's care plan Perform blood glucose monitoring when needed Maintain close communication with school nurse and follow established protocols Document all diabetes-related care activities as required
