Work in tandem with the Camp Clinic Manager to manage the 24/7 Health Clinic at residential summer camp for campers 6 - 17 When the Camp Clinic Manger is not present, act as the Camp Clinic Manager on duty Supervise medication intake and return on camp arrival/departure days Supervise health screens on all arriving campers Supervise clinic assistant and additional clinic nurse Provide care as needed to campers including but not limited to first aid, CPR, and medication. Portion out regularly taken medications for campers for each mealtime and other times that require medication administration In conjunction with the camper care team, communicate with parents and caregivers about camper health as needed Ensure medication storage and medical facilities are compliant with Colorado Licensing and Health Department Regulations Act as a resource to staff members in supporting their own physical and emotional wellness. Drive UTV to events in outer property Contribute to and participate in all activities at camp including but not limited to swimming,
Manage camper behaviors using positive behavior management techniques, enforcing appropriate safety policies, emergency procedures, and camp rules.
Participate in formal performance evaluations with Camp Director throughout the summer to receive positive feedback and shed light on opportunities for growth or improvement
All Supervisory Staff Responsibilities
Take care of staff and campers by prioritizing the physical, social, emotional health, safety, and well-being.
Work as a team with the supervisory team to make sure every day runs the way it's supposed to by participating in all camp programming and supporting and maintaining camp life. Create a community that you want to be a part of and that you want campers to be a part of.
Include everyone and make sure everyone is included.
Jump into the camp life: ride horses, swim, camp, play games, sing songs, roast s'mores, be ready to do everything the campers do!
Act as a resource and support staff as they manage the physical and emotional health and wellness of the campers.
Understand and be versed in positive behavior management techniques, enforcing appropriate safety policies, emergency procedures, camp rules, and more.
Be flexible and adaptable because things change quickly at camp. You have to be able to roll with it.
And other duties and responsibilities as assigned: you might need to make your campers' dreams of a beach themed ice-cream campfire song session come true or become your favorite legendary Pokémon for an evening program. Physical Demands and Working Environment Physical Demands: This job requires the incumbent to have operative auditory and visual functioning. Employee must also be able to walk upwards of two (2) miles each day, including use of stairs and uneven terrain. Employee may also stand, sit in chairs or on the ground, run, and swim. Employee may lift or body block campers when necessary.
Work Environment: Working conditions may include being in indoor, often time's loud spaces and spending extended time outdoors under the sun. Must have the ability to work in a hectic, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining the standard of care. Qualifications and Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Licensed MD, RN or NP in the State of Colorado, or compact licensure Two years' experience in licensed role Valid driver's license and ability to transport campers using company vehicles as needed Experience working in a rural camp environment First Aid and CPR Certifications
Ability to train and delegate staff in Medication Administration Satisfactorily fulfill requirements for employment at the Staenberg-Loup JCC, including: background screening, three references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law.
Must be high-energy, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded!
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior supervisory experience of other licensed/qualified individuals At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children
