Staff Accountant An organization is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join its collaborative finance team. Position Overview Reporting to finance leadership, the Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities across multiple business units. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, team-oriented, detail-focused, and not afraid to ask questions while learning. Key Responsibilities
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting schedules Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations Support cash, accrual, prepaid, and payroll accounting activities Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist with variance analysis and account fluctuation reviews Prepare internal reports and schedules for management Support ad hoc financial analysis projects Respond to internal inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account activity
Process Improvement & Systems Support
Help improve accounting workflows and reporting processes Support ERP and financial system enhancements Maintain organized documentation of accounting procedures
Audit & Compliance
Assist with year-end audit requests and supporting schedules Follow internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
Collaboration & Growth
Cross-train with teammates and support peers when needed Build strong working relationships with other departments Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience grow
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Strong Microsoft Excel skills 1+ years of accounting experience Basic understanding of GAAP principles
