Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using established assessments along with your keen observational skills. Create tailored treatment strategies that cater to immediate needs while ensuring lasting communication and swallowing improvements. Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing all aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with a variety of healthcare professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Educate patients and their families to equip them with skills and knowledge to continue progress between visits. Support the inpatient speech therapy team by providing evaluations and interventions as needed, guaranteeing consistent care throughout the treatment continuum. Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation following requisite state, federal, and organizational guidelines. Engage in ongoing education and collaborate with peers to remain at the forefront of clinical innovations and practices. Required Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Necessary Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment. Skills and Expertise
Deep knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches across all age groups, with an emphasis on understanding speech, language, and swallowing disorders, both developmental and acquired. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling strong rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Flexibility to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
