Provides hemostasis by independently applying electrocautery and instrumentation directly to tissue or by suturing, application of tie ligatures and clips.
Provides site exposure of relevant areas though appropriate use of instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging techniques. Assists by handling tissue in dissection and suturing utilizing appropriate instrumentation during operative procedure.
Performs wound closure of peritoneum, fascia, subcutaneous tissue and skin. Communicates pertinent information to the surgical team throughout all phases of the nursing process. Interprets clinical data/patient responses, collaborates with members of the health care team to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care. All other duties not specifically assigned. Position Requirements Education: Graduate of a school of Nursing. Completion of an accredited course in RN First Assisting required. Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred. Technical Skills: N/A Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Current license to practice as registered nurse in the State of Ohio. Current CNOR certification required. BLS required. ACLS preferred. RequirementsSchedule: 0.9 FTE / 2- 8 hour shifts/2-10 hour shifts and call shifts requiredStatus: Full-Time (72 hours per pay period)
