Role Specific Introduction We are currently seeking experienced Audio-Visual Engineers to join our team. This is not your typical AV Designer/Engineer role. You will be challenged daily to create unique solutions for our clients. FG’s AV projects routinely range from $5MM to over $50MM. The FG team is not your average consulting group. You will be challenged constantly as you work on systems that tens of thousands of people experience daily or are part of a mission critical facility. This requires a special kind of engineer.
Experience
7+ years of progressive experience in audiovisual engineering and design
Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD for AV system documentation and design
Demonstrated experience with acoustic modeling software (EASE and/or EVAC)
Hands-on background in AV contracting or field installation work
Proven track record of designing multimillion-dollar AV projects from concept through completion
Forward-thinking approach to technology integration with focus on scalable, future-ready solutions
Strong interpersonal and client management skills with ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
Advanced proficiency in Bluebeam REVU or eXtreme for document collaboration and markup
Experience managing AV projects, including scope development, budgeting, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
Contribute Technical Expertise on Audio Visual System Design and Deployment
Assist clients in developing complete AV systems as they relate to construction design planning, consulting, and overall project lifecycles
Participate in various planning and design assignments including development of alternate solution architectures, cost-benefit analysis, development of basic infrastructure requirements, equipment specifications and cost estimates
Collaborate internally with other team members who possess expertise in various technical disciplines to ensure modern validated designs are being produced for clients
Provide AV focused expertise to non-AV colleagues within the company who also work in their own disciplines with clients (e.g. Security System, Mechanical, and Infrastructure focused employees)
Occasional site surveys, meetings, and commissioning work at Client sites
Good verbal and writing skills are required to produce several types of formal client deliverables, such as: Technology Master Plans, High-Level Design (HLD) artifacts, Basis of Design (BoD) documentation, among several others
Ability to comfortably lead technical workshop discussions with clients that are focused on extracting complex design informationAbility to vocalize concerns to reporting manager as they arise, and utilize feedback and tools provided to continually improve final work products in all projects
Education and Professional Certifications
Education:
This position is flexible with degree requirement in lieu of actively held technical certifications and or technical competency demonstrated during interviews. Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in related field is a plus.
Certifications:
CTS is required
CTS-D or RCDD is a Plus
Manufacturer Certifications in QSC, Crestron, Planar, NanoLumens, Jupiter, Christie, Digital Projections, and/or AtlasIED are a plus
Compensation $130,000+ Depending on location, qualifications, and experience
Other Job Notes This is a full-time position that does require some degree of travel to remote client sites (approximately 10-25% of the year) – Travel is reimbursed after being paid for upfront by the employee.
