About

Ignite Communication and Foster Connection in the Thriving City of Reno - Join Us as a Speech Language PathologistOverview What if your next professional leap could transform lives - literally? As a Speech Language Pathologist in Reno, a city known for its vibrant culture and beautiful landscapes, you will embark on a journey that extends far beyond treating communication and swallowing difficulties. Your role will empower individuals, rekindle confidence, and nurture relationships - from young children taking their first steps into language to older adults regaining their ability to express themselves and connect with others. This position offers an incredible opportunity to impact a diverse spectrum of clients, serving people from childhood through the senior years. Working within an environment that balances outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient duties, you will find a unique blend of challenges and rewards. Whether your passion leans towards pediatric speech therapy, assisting adults with neurogenic communication issues, or guiding seniors through cognitive rehabilitation, a range of options is available to you. Responsibilities
Assess patients of all ages using a mix of standardized testing and observational methods for comprehensive evaluation. Create tailored treatment plans designed to meet both immediate and prolonged communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs. Deliver focused speech therapy sessions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing therapy. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure a well-rounded approach to care. Educate patients and their families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions. Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, facilitating a seamless continuum of care. Keep meticulous and timely records in compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations. Engage in continuous learning and collaboration with peers to stay updated on the latest advances in speech-language pathology. Education Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Required Certifications
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment. Skills and Attributes
Expertise in evidence-driven treatment methodologies suitable for patients across all age groups, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to connect with patients, families, and various healthcare professionals. Adept at adapting therapeutic practices to embrace diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong diagnostic acumen and problem-solving capabilities. Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation requirements. What We Offer
Attractive compensation commensurate with professional experience. Flexible working hours to support a healthy work-life balance. Opportunities for specialization in pediatric, adult neurorehab, or geriatric services. Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay. Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Continuing education support and professional growth opportunities. A team-focused environment that emphasizes quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career That Inspires Growth In this pivotal role, you'll engage in impactful speech therapy while actively participating in a mission-oriented initiative that champions communication and fosters connections. You'll work in an atmosphere of support and camaraderie where every team member is valued. Together, we'll help our patients articulate their stories and enjoy the richness of understanding with one another. As a part of our healthcare family, immerse yourself in Reno's dynamic spirit, a city that pulses with creativity and outdoor adventure. Explore its vibrant neighborhoods, filled with charming shops, hearty restaurants, and inspiring art scenes. And for those who crave the outdoors, bask in the beauty of Lake Tahoe or take in the stunning views of the Sierra Nevada mountains - options for adventure are boundless! Reno thrives on community engagement and social initiatives, with lively events and celebrations weaving together individuals from all walks of life. For professionals like you, the environment is ripe for both career and personal growth, underpinned by a reasonable cost of living and a place where enjoyment of life complements career aspirations. Whether you are starting out or are a seasoned pro seeking a fresh opportunity, Reno is ready to welcome you into an enriching journey that includes both healing and learning. Join Us on This Journey If you believe that speech is not merely sound but a vital connection, if you view therapy as a meaningful partnership rather than just tasks, and if you cherish humor alongside language, then the next exciting chapter in your career could be right here waiting for you. Come be part of a community that understands the essence of communication and the power it holds. Apply today, and let your expertise help others find their voices in a supportive and compassionate environment.
