Job Responsibilities
Conduct thorough evaluations across various age groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational skills. Create tailored treatment plans aimed at fulfilling immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Implement individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and safe swallowing practices. Partner with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, and family members, to forge cohesive care strategies. Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to support continued progress beyond clinical sessions. Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatment, ensuring an uninterrupted care pathway. Ensure consistent and precise documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines and organizational standards. Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with innovations in the field through collaborative efforts and professional development. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire. Key Skills
Knowledgeable in research-based treatment methodologies applicable to all demographics, with a robust understanding of developmental as well as acquired dysphagia and communication disorders. Effective communicator capable of fostering relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
