Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay). Annual Salary: $149,430.52 Job Location: This position is located at the Howerton State Office Building; 615 Howerton Court, Jefferson City, MO. Responsibilities - What you'll do Educate providers on MO HealthNet policies and procedures. Conduct comprehensive clinical reviews for drug prior authorization requests. Mentor and supervise pharmacy students as a preceptor. Evaluate and oversee Retro DUR mailings and communications. Develop and update clinical, fiscal, and preferred drug list policies. Analyze pharmacy claims to identify and report utilization trends. Improve and maintain pharmacy system programs to optimize clinical outcomes. Support the creation and revision of policies. Interpret State Statutes, regulations, and MHD Policy and Procedure. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications - All you need for successMinimum Qualifications: Missouri licensed pharmacist and 1-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of clinical pharmacy programs, pharmacy claims processing systems, and clinical adjudication tools. A strong working knowledge of pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical product management is essential. Outstanding interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to clearly and simply explain complex information to a variety of audiences. The successful candidate will prioritize tasks and make decisions when consequences are clear.
The following experience is highly desirable:
Experience with pharmacy claims processing systems. Ability to analyze and evaluate complex pharmacy claims. Experience developing and applying utilization management criteria. Involvement with P&T Committees, DUR Boards, Retro-DUR program management, vendor management, contract reviews, and deliverables oversight. Experience monitoring and reviewing prior authorization (PA) requests including but not limited to traditional, specialty, high-cost medications, or complex pharmaceutical therapies, such as Cell & Gene therapies (CGTs), Orphan Drug therapies, etc. Experience serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students. Clinical pharmacy experience preferred over retail pharmacy experience.
