Performs a variety of complex system analysis duties in the development, installation, implementation and evaluation of local area, wide area, or multi-protocol open data networks. Installs, tests, and configures network hardware and software. Customizes new software releases to adapt them to client’s computer system malfunctions and recommends corrective actions. Troubleshoots issues, monitors and analyzes network environments and related infrastructures. Deploys and assists with deployment of new and/or upgrades to the network systems, hardware, and software. Performs preventative maintenance to preclude major network outages or degradation to customer service. Monitors the performance of networks and computer systems to determine if adjustments need to be made. Reviews firewall security architecture, security policies and access controls lists and provides recommendations on enhancements. Maintains automatic recovery and back up procedures for software systems. Provides technical support to users of several hardware components. Assists with other duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer or designee.
