Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Minneapolis - Your Next Adventure Awaits as a Speech Language PathologistOverview Imagine a career that not only elevates your professional journey but also profoundly impacts the lives of others. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the lively backdrop of Minneapolis, your expertise will extend far beyond addressing speech and language challenges. It will be a conduit through which individuals rediscover their voice and convey their stories - from young children eager to speak their first words to older adults striving for independence in their conversations. This exceptional role presents a platform to engage with a diverse spectrum of clients in a unique environment that harmoniously blends outpatient care with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Whether you have a passion for pediatric speech development, adult communication rehabilitation, or geriatric cognitive language therapy, you'll discover a fulfilling and flexible practice here. Your Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized tools and observational assessments. Create tailored therapy plans addressing immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Implement individualized speech therapy sessions that enhance communication skills, language competence, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities. Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to create a unified approach to care. Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to continue progress beyond sessions. Support the occasional delivery of inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring holistic patient care throughout the journey. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in line with regulatory guidelines at state, federal, and organizational levels. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of the latest advancements in the field through continuous education and peer interaction. Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized educational institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Preferred Credentials
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring. Skills and Competencies
Solid grounding in evidence-based practices for individuals of all ages, with comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and an interdisciplinary care team. Adept at adapting therapy strategies catering to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation compliance standards. Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary reflective of your experience. Flexible scheduling that promotes work-life harmony and accommodates diverse case needs. Opportunities to specialize in areas like pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation. Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Support for continuing education and professional growth. Engaging, collaborative environment committed to high-quality healthcare and lifelong learning.
A Career That Inspires You to Connect In this role, you will do much more than deliver speech therapy - you will become an integral part of a community that focuses on restoring voices, fostering connections, and celebrating the joys of communication in all its forms. This is a place where you'll find companionship amongst fellow clinicians, developing relationships that go beyond professional interactions. Each patient you encounter has a narrative, and you'll be entrusted with the ability to influence the telling of these stories. Why Minneapolis? Why You? The essence of life in Minneapolis flows from a rich blend of cultural vibrancy and warmth. Known as the City of Lakes, it's a lively urban area adorned with scenic parks and lively public spaces. Locals revel in activities ranging from kayaking on serene lakes to enjoying craft food markets brimming with innovative flavors. The creative spirit here pulses through art districts, with murals and galleries enlivening city blocks. This locale hosts a plethora of cultural events, ensuring that every weekend feels special. And beyond the rich lifestyle, the favorable economic landscape, absence of a state income tax, and growing healthcare sector ensure professional endeavors flourish just as much as personal ones. Whether you are embarking on your career or a seasoned clinician ready to embrace new adventures, this is a place where your aspirations can take root and flourish. Join Us - We Need You We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist who champions results grounded in empathy. A professional who perceives a hesitant child and foresees their journey to confident self-expression, someone who listens to the hesitant speech of a stroke patient and hears determination intertwined with heart. If you are specialized in pediatrics eager to incorporate adult therapy, or a clinician with a focus on neuro-based interventions wanting to enrich your practice with early intervention, we want to hear from you. Ready to be part of a team that believes in the power of communication? Let's embark on this journey together. Take a Step Towards Meaningful Work If you understand that communication extends beyond mere words, and therapy transcends task-oriented approaches - if you believe in building trust before tackling therapeutic goals and that joy can often complement language - then your next chapter is waiting for you here. Join us in a thriving community that celebrates communication, connection, and the courage it takes to forge ahead. Apply now to bring your unique voice to our team and help guide others in finding their own.
