Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level. The CT Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs CT procedures on patients. A physician or licensed provider requests these procedures to diagnose disease and injury. The technologist follows established protocols. Essential functions of the role include:
Performing high-quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Demonstrating knowledge of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring. Utilizing AIDET to communicate with patients. Preparing the patient and area for the procedure. Protecting patients and employees by following safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies and protocols. Maintaining equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Reporting issues to management or the appropriate department. Obtaining, verifying, and maintaining all relevant documentation. Maintaining medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.
Key success factors include:
Performing high quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Explaining the procedure and putting patients at ease. Providing services promptly, accurately, and cost-efficiently, following System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. Performing tasks autonomously without need for routine oversight. Staying calm and helpful during stress and taking reasonable steps to resolve issues. Effectively administering first aid and using emergency cart. Ensuring customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service. Demonstrating and maintaining current knowledge, education, and skills for appropriate care of newborns, pediatric, young adults, adults, and geriatrics. Serving as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives. Taking call, if required.

Education: Grad of an Accredited Program Experience: Less than 1 year BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer
Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (CT). Must also be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R) or Nuclear Medicine (N). Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech (CNMT) is also accepted. Licensed by State of TX Medical Board as Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
