Conduct thorough evaluations for diverse patient populations, utilizing established assessments and constructive observations. Create tailored treatment plans to meet both immediate and long-range therapeutic goals related to communication, cognition, or swallowing. Deliver individualized speech therapy focusing on communication effectiveness, language development, fluency, and swallowing interventions. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, and family members to ensure continuity of care. Provide education and resources for patients and their families to enrich progress beyond clinical sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain high standards of continuity and care. Ensure meticulous documentation is maintained in compliance with all regulatory standards. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology. Education Requirements
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology awarded by an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required prior to obtaining ASHA certification. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within 30 days of hire. Qualifications and Skills
