Sales Associate/Cashier

The Sales Floor Associate's primary responsibility is providing exceptional customer service at all times while also participating in the general upkeep of the store. Once assigned to a department, the Associate will be responsible for the upkeep of that specific area of the store while still contributing to the overall store upkeep as needed. The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. The Sales Associate will be trained to Cashier. This will allow for the sales associate to be able to fill in as a Cashier as determined by the Store Manager.

Position starts at $18.00-$21.00/hr. DOE + Bonus

Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.

Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.

Assist with maintaining back stock levels.

Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.

Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise.

Assist with merchandise resets through the store.

Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders.

Ensure signage is current throughout the store.

Communicate any Store Support Center issue to the Store Manager for follow up.

Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the Store Manager.

Participate in store meetings.

Be professional in appearance and actions.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Follow all cash register transaction procedures.

Responsible for accurately counting change back to customers.

Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.

Adhere to any Store program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.

Participate in all store and Cashier meetings.

Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end.

Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.

Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times.

Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.

Assist with decorating the front end.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

High School or GED equivalent.

Clean & Clear Driving Record

Retail experience preferred.

Customer service experience preferred.

Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and climbing.
