Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
The practice is characterized by a dynamic environment where 95% of cases involve high-risk pregnancies. Physicians will have access to three fully equipped exam rooms and state-of-the-art GE 10 ultrasound equipment. The practice is supported by a collaborative team, including a nurse practitioner who rotates between sites, ensuring comprehensive patient care and continuity.
Key procedures include amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and cerclage, with a focus on managing pre-eclampsia, growth restrictions, chromosomal abnormalities, and various genetic disorders. This role is ideal for a physician eager to make a meaningful impact in the field of maternal-fetal medicine.
Schedule and Assignment Details
Physicians will enjoy a balanced work schedule with clinic hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, along with nightly calls on weekdays. Weekend responsibilities include 24-hour call coverage, offering a comprehensive engagement with the patient population. Providers will rotate between two clinic sites, located 30 minutes apart, providing versatility and a broad scope of practice.
Support and Work Environment
You will be joining a two-provider service, ensuring that you are part of a supportive and collaborative team. This role does not require supervision of other healthcare providers, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. The facility does not have an onsite lab; however, it is equipped with an advanced ultrasound facility and a highly skilled support team, enhancing the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Completed fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Active Virginia medical license and BLS certification required.
- AIUM certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Prepared to submit a Self-Query NPDB report and apply to multiple relevant postings for full consideration.
