Advance your career as a UX Designer on a collaborative Agile team supporting the modernization of mission-critical supervisory systems for a federal agency. You'll take ownership of user experience design for complex web applications, drive user research and usability testing, and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders. This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Your future duties and responsibilities include: Leading the design of user interfaces and workflows for web applications, ensuring usability and Section 508 accessibility compliance Conducting user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions Translating requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs using modern design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.) Collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams (developers, product owners, stakeholders) to deliver user-centered solutions Developing and maintaining design systems, style guides, and documentation Applying human-centered design (HCD) and best practices to create engaging, efficient, and accessible user experiences Presenting design concepts and findings to technical and non-technical audiences Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to backlog refinement Mentoring junior designers and providing feedback to elevate team design quality Staying current with UX trends, tools, and accessibility standards Required qualifications to be successful in this role include: Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3–5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design for web applications Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar) Demonstrated experience with user research, usability testing, and iterative design Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and inclusive design Experience collaborating in Agile or cross-functional teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Eligibility for federal background investigation and compliance with security requirements (U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency with 3+ years residency) Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required include: Experience designing for enterprise or regulated environments Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development concepts Experience with DevSecOps or Agile software development environments Certifications in UX, HCD, or accessibility Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers Compensation for this role in the U.S. is estimated to be $63,700.00 - $156,700.00.
