Physical Requirements

Working Conditions Works in a well-lighted and air-conditioned environment; regular exposure to contagious illnesses; occasional periods of high stress; occasional exposure to hazards such as needle sticks, electrical equipment, and other medical devices.

Computer Knowledge & Electronic Equipment Use: Demonstrates ability to consistently utilize electronic equipment and online computer programs to perform job duties, including electronic documentation, and order entry. Resource Utilization: Consistently utilizes and maintains supplies and equipment to minimize lost charges and unnecessary equipment repair-replacement. Confidentiality: Adheres to established policies on privacy and security requirements for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as applicable by Shannon Policy.
Performance: Position Specific Essential Functions
* Support the Director in overseeing daily nursing operations and staff performance. * Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies, procedures, and protocols. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies. * Participate in hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching nursing staff to maintain high standards of care and professionalism. * Help manage staffing schedules, assignments, and coverage needs. * Conduct clinical rounds to assess patient care, safety, and satisfaction. * Monitor and ensure accurate documentation of care and treatment by nursing staff. * Support infection control, quality assurance, and risk management initiatives. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support care coordination and treatment planning. * Respond to patient or family concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating issues as appropriate. * Act as a liaison between nursing staff and administration. * Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
* Required
* Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
* Preferred
* Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) * Master's degree in nursing or healthcare administration
Experience:
* Required
* Three years of experience in clinical nursing
* Preferred
* One or more year of leadership experience
Certification/Licensure:
* Required
* Registered Nurse (RN), with Authorization to Practice in the State of Texas
