All projects delivered as tenant fit-ups within landlord-controlled environmentsReporting to the AVP, Design & Construction, you will be accountable for end-to-end execution across all provinces, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with SportCheku2019s evolving brand and customer experience strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesLead National Construction Deliveryu2022
Lead delivery of SportCheku2019s national capital program across all provinces, including new builds, relocations, and renovationsu2022
Ensure consistent performance across schedule, budget, and quality metricsu2022
Oversee complex, phased renovations in live retail environments, minimizing disruption to store operationsBuild and Lead a National Teamu2022
Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and Coordinators located across Canadau2022
Establish clear expectations, drive accountability, and enable consistent execution across regionsu2022
Build team capability and structure to support a growing, national portfolioDrive Project Planning, Estimation, and Delivery Strategyu2022
Partner with Real Estate and Leasing teams to support Schedule C development, including scope definition and budgetingu2022
Lead the creation of detailed cost estimates, project scopes, and value engineering strategiesu2022
Determine and implement appropriate construction delivery models (Construction Management, Design-Build, Stipulated Sum) based on project complexityManage Contracts, Vendors, and Execution Risku2022
Oversee procurement and administration of construction contracts and consultant agreementsu2022
Manage relationships with general contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors nationwideu2022
Ensure governance across cost, schedule, safety, quality, and contract complianceu2022
Proactively manage risks associated with phased construction and tenant fit-up projectsDrive Cross-Functional Alignmentu2022
Serve as the key construction partner to SportChek brand leadership, Operations, Real Estate, and Store Development teamsu2022

What you bring

12+ years of progressive experience in construction, with a strong focus on national, multi-site retail projects
u2022
Proven track record of leading construction departments or large teams within retail organizations
u2022
Demonstrated experience delivering projects across multiple provinces within Canada

Strong background in retail design and construction, with an understanding of brand standards and customer experience requirements

Deep expertise in:
Construction delivery methods (CM, Design-Build, Stipulated Sum)
Construction contracts and procurement strategies
Complex renovation phasing in operating stores
Cost estimation, scoping, and value engineering
Leasing coordination and Schedule C development

Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar capital programs

Broadband Salary Range: 98,000.00 - 163,000.00 CAD Annual
Our typical hiring range is between 140,000.00 - 160,000.00 CAD per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements
