Sales Counter Representative
to join our team in Stockton. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in industrial sales, especially in the
steel or air tank industry -who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You'll be the face of our sales counter, helping customers find the right products, processing orders, and ensuring our inventory is well-stocked and organized. What You'll Do:
Welcome and assist walk-in customers with expert guidance on welding and industrial products. Process sales transactions accurately, including order entry and payment handling. Recommend and upsell products based on customer needs and industry best practices. Provide technical support and product knowledge on welding materials, safety gear, tools, and machinery. Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring high-demand items are readily available and attractively displayed. Handle special orders and follow up with customers regarding order status. Prepare and follow up on customer quotes. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely delivery and order fulfillment. Build lasting relationships with customers to encourage repeat business. Assist with pricing, cataloging, and sourcing new products. Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in welding technology. What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent Experience in industrial or counter sales, preferably in the welding or related industries
. Solid understanding of welding supplies and equipment (e.g., rods, electrodes, PPE, welding machines). Strong communication skills-verbal and written. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with sales and inventory management software.
