Description
Incisive is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and process driven Finance and Compliance Specialist who can own core finance operations, ensure compliance across multiple states, and build reporting and dashboards that create visibility for leadership.
This is a high impact, high visibility role that blends finance, compliance, and operations support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities, builds systems that prevent issues before they happen, and enjoys turning data into insight that drives real decisions.
This role partners closely with Sales, Talent, Operations, and Leadership, and will also collaborate externally with vendors, agencies, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities Financial Operations and Month End Close
Own and manage entire Accounts Receivable process, including consultant timesheets and expenses, customer invoicing, payment application, reconciliation, and follow up to reduce AR days.
Own Accounts Payable processes, including vendor management, invoice processing, timely payments, and identifying cost saving opportunities.
Maintain accurate bookkeeping, reconciliation, and financial records across all core accounts.
Manage and execute month end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met, reports are accurate, and variance drivers are explained.
Support annual tax preparation and coordination with external accountants.
Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting, and monitor departmental budgets for spending trends and risk.
Payroll, Commissions, and Bonus Tracking
Manage consultant and contractor payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment to company policy.
Track commissions and bonuses, ensure accurate calculations, and reconcile supporting data sources.
Maintain centralized financial agreement tracking, including monthly reconciliation and follow up as needed.
Reporting, Dashboards, and Data Analysis
Prepare monthly financial packages for leadership, including key insights, trends, and recommendations to improve performance and efficiency.
Build and maintain reporting dashboards and monthly presentations for stakeholders across departments including Sales, Talent, Operations, and Technology.
Conduct data analysis to translate raw financial and operational data into actionable insights that support executive decision making.
Partner with leadership to create reporting that drives accountability, performance tracking, and forward looking planning.
Compliance and Contract Support
Own and manage state compliance across all states Incisive operates in including registrations, reporting, and tax related requirements.
Collaborate with the Sales team to review client contracts for insurance limits, compliance requirements, and alignment to company policies.
Build tracking systems and internal controls that ensure compliance is proactive, not reactive.
Cross Functional Operations Support
Identify process gaps, improve workflows, and implement systems that reduce errors and increase operational efficiency.
Project manage finance and operations initiatives that support company growth goals and improve financial visibility.
Support internal teams as needed, including onboarding and offboarding processes for consultants when priorities require additional bandwidth.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
4 to 7 years of experience finance, accounting, compliance, operations, or related roles, ideally in a B2B services environment.
Strong experience with month end close, reconciliation, and producing accurate financial reporting.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including the ability to clean datasets, reconcile numbers, and build scalable reporting.
Proven ability to turn large datasets into actionable dashboards and insights for leadership.
Strong attention to detail and ability to design systems and controls that catch issues early.
Self starter mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with Sales, Talent, Operations, and Leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a startup, high growth, or small business environment with evolving processes.
Experience building dashboards in tools such as Power BI, Zoho Analytics, Tableau, or equivalent.
Experience managing state compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
