Document Scanner / Digital Imaging Technician On-Board Engineering is hiring a Document Scanner in Gramercy, LA! Position Type: Full Time / Temporary Contract (2 - 3 month duration) Job Location: Gramercy, LA Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift Benefits: ACA Compliant Health Insurance available Compensation: $20 - $24/hr Overview/Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Document Scanner / Digital Imaging Technician to support the digitization of hard copy documents and engineering drawings. This role is responsible for preparing, scanning, indexing, and organizing physical records into digital formats while ensuring accuracy, quality, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have prior document scanning experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to think critically and creatively to improve workflow efficiency and document organization processes. Scan hard copy documents, engineering drawings, and large-format files into digital systems Prepare documents for scanning by removing staples, repairing pages, organizing files, and ensuring proper sequencing Verify image quality, completeness, and accuracy of scanned documents Index and organize digital files according to company naming conventions and procedures Maintain document confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Operate and maintain scanning equipment and report any technical issues Perform quality control checks to ensure all files are legible and properly archived Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines Assist with records management and physical file organization as needed Identify opportunities to improve scanning workflows and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Previous experience with document scanning and digital imaging required Experience scanning engineering drawings or large-format documents preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good verbal and written communication skills Creative problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer proficiency and experience with document management systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-volume scanning projects Familiarity with records retention and document control procedures Knowledge of PDF editing and digital file management software
Required Certifications & Screening
Valid TWIC Card required MSHA Certification strongly preferred, but not required Must successfully pass a background check Must successfully pass a drug screening
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move boxes/files up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, sit, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Ability to handle physical documents and large-format drawings
